Job description
First Peoples Law LLP is seeking an experienced lawyer to join our growing team dedicated to defending and advancing the rights of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

First Peoples Law is committed to defending and advancing Indigenous Peoples’ inherent and constitutionally protected title, rights and Treaty rights. Our objective is to play a meaningful role in Indigenous Peoples’ ongoing struggle for a more respectful and equitable world for themselves and their children.
With a team of 44, including 26 lawyers, we provide the highest-quality legal services to our clients on issues related to title and rights, governance and economic prosperity, while actively participating in public education initiatives. Our work includes providing representation and strategic advice to First Nations and Indigenous groups across Canada.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced lawyer who shares our commitment to protecting and advancing the rights of Indigenous Peoples through high-quality legal representation with significant litigation and negotiation experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to take on a leading role for existing litigation and negotiation files, primarily in Ontario. Depending on experience and abilities, the successful candidate will be considered for a partnership track with the firm.

Description of Position
The Lawyer will work on a full-time basis out of the First Peoples Law office in Ottawa. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
