Job Posting Terms of Use - Employers
Thank you for considering the Indigenous Bar Association’s website as a platform to post jobs. The following Terms of Use outline the rules for use of the Indigenous Bar Association’s website for job posting purposes for your organization. You agree that by purchasing or otherwise using, you are entering into a legal binding agreement. The job postings will be featured on the IBA website and circulated to the IBA membership. These postings are to be targeted to Indigenous identifying legal professionals based on our membership policy.
Fees
Each job requires its own posting and payment. Costs are subject to change in the future. The IBA reserves the right to refuse postings. A job posting is public for a minimum of 30 days. The IBA does not provide refunds for approved ads that have been posted to the job board. If a job ad has been rejected, the IBA will reimburse the full amount to the original method of payment.
For IBA members, the job posting fees are follows:
Law Firm - Small (under 20 employees) : $200
Law Firm - Large (over 20 employees): $300
Non-Profit: $200
For non-IBA members, the job posting fees are as follows:
Law Firm - Small (under 20 employees): $250
Law Firm - Large (over 20 employees): $350
Executive Search: $350
Government: $350
Post-secondary Institution: $250
Non-Profit: $250
*All fees for job postings are subject to an additional 3% charge for PayPal fees associated with each transaction and applicable provincial or federal sales taxes.
Payments
You may pay by cheque or PayPal, payment must be completed before your job can be made public. If paying by cheque, please pay within 30 days of posting your job. If you require a receipt or invoice, please email admin@indigenousbarassociation.onmicrosoft.com. Cheques must be made payable to the Indigenous Bar Association.
Submission of Job Posting(s)
All job postings should be sent via email to admin@indigenousbar.ca.
Ineligibility
The IBA will not host job postings from employer where the partner/ subrecipient:
Is an opposing party to a legal matter in which the IBA is a party;
Engages in activities that conflict with the IBA’s mandate;
Imposes a condition on collaboration/ partnership that such subrecipient/partner will influence the IBA’s strategic choices;
Is an employer or organization who has been reprimanded by a court, law society, or tribunal for their conduct towards Indigenous people;
Has demonstrated an inability to uphold the TRC’s Call to Action.
Right to Remove or Reject Job Postings
The IBA reserves the right to remove or refuse any job postings where:
The employer has not complied with the information required below;
The posting and/or employer is ineligible per the above;
The posting and/or employer provides incorrect or misleading information; or
The posting is deemed to by the IBA to not be a viable work opportunity for its members.
Required Information
The IBA requires all employers to provide the following information in order to post a job opportunity. Failure to do so may result in the job posting not being accepted and/or removed.
Legal name of organization with full mailing address and phone number;
Full name of contact person at the organization for inquiries about the posting with phone number and a valid and direct email address;
Provide a full and accurate description of the nature of the position being offered and the employment status and terms of the posted job opportunity (e.g., full time permanent, contract, summer, etc.).

The IBA has not reviewed all of the sites linked in a job posting to the IBA website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked sites. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by the IBA of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user’s own risk.
Business Process and Timelines
All job postings submitted to the IBA must first meet the Terms and Conditions outlined herein before they are approved and posted by the IBA. Submitted jobs postings are processed Monday to Wednesday each week between 8:30 and 4:30 PM (except for holidays) and can take seven to ten business days to complete.
Once approved, any and all job postings submitted to the IBA will be active for 30 days, unless otherwise requested by the employer. Job postings can be taken down earlier (e.g., if the job is filled) upon request by the employer. Job postings can be extended beyond 30 days, consistent with repaying the fees under these Terms and Conditions.
The IBA will not be held liable to employers, community associations, organizations using the IBA with respect to any loss or damage which may result to them directly or indirectly in regard to hosting a job posting on the IBA website and/or circulating it to the IBA membership.
