ASSOCIATE LAWYER, GOLDBLATT PARTNERS LLP

Location: Toronto
Salary: $113,000 to $147,000

Employment Type: Full time; One-year contract, with the possibility of extension; Hybrid work model

Goldblatt Partners LLP is seeking to hire a lawyer with two to five years of experience to join our Aboriginal law and Indigenous rights practice group.

We work with Indigenous governments and individuals to advance and protect their Indigenous and treaty rights, and to build space for greater self-determination. The practice includes litigation at all levels of court and before administrative tribunals, consultation processes and negotiations with governments and proponents, and advice concerning governance and economic development matters.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario and will have:

•       A demonstrated interest in and familiarity with Indigenous rights, Aboriginal law, and constitutional law

•       Strong analytic, research and writing skills

•       Strong references

•       A record of academic excellence

•       Availability to travel for work with Indigenous clients across Canada

The following will be considered assets:

•       Litigation experience

•       French language competency

•       Experience with contract drafting and/or knowledge of corporate and commercial law
