Research Contracts and Privacy Specialist

Reporting to the General Counsel and Privacy Officer, the Research Contracts & Privacy Specialist will support legal and privacy matters and will be the prime on all agreements related to OICR’s new Ontario Hereditary Cancer Research Network (OHCRN). The Research Contracts & Privacy Specialist will draft and negotiate a host of agreements related to clinical genetics, data sharing and research services and will support OICR’s organizational compliance with relevant privacy legislation, specifically, the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004. The Research Contracts & Privacy Specialist will work with key stakeholders both internal and external to OICR and carry out activities to help ensure OICR’s legal and privacy risks are mitigated.


• Law degree or paralegal background with related experience or a master’s degree or recognized equivalent

• Minimum 2 years practical and related experience drafting, interpreting, and negotiating agreements (healthcare setting preferred)

• Experience in supporting a privacy program
